Reliable pilot ignition is critical to the destruction of flare gases that are sent to a burn pit. However, many burn pits are located in remote areas without access to reliable ignition and power sources, making ignition and monitoring difficult and dangerous. EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN ONE TRAILER
All the equipment to operate MIST is included in the small trailer footprint and is powered by solar energy, making deployment to site simple. MIST is equipped with the following:
- Nitrogen (N2) for pilot purge
- Propane for pilot gas
- High Energy Ignition (HEI)
- Solar powered battery
- Pilot ignition and monitoring
HOW TO OPERATE MIST
The operation of MIST was designed to be as simple as possible. To begin, the operator connects MIST to the burn pit junction box and purges the pilot line with N2. Once completed, the HEI is activated, and propane is sent to the pilot, where it is lit by the ignitor. After the thermocouple confirms pilot ignition, flare gas is sent to the burn pit for safe destruction. MIST monitors pilot operation during flaring and automatically relights the pilot if it goes out. Once flaring is completed, MIST can be disconnected and deployed to the next site or sent to storage.
